  • Warm compress

    • Gentle pressure to reduce swelling
    • Clear away any discharge

  • Rinse eye with Sterile Saline ONLY
  • Apply antibiotic ointment
  • NEVER PUT STEROIDS IN AN EYE UNLESS DIRECTED BY A DOCTOR!!!

    • Dexamethasone (Neo-poly-dex)

What the Vet Can Do

  • Repair laceration if neededPicture23
  • Stain eye

    • Check for ulcerations

  • Administer medications

    • Antibiotic ointment (With or without steroid)
    • Atropine (This¬†Dilates pupil and relieves pain)
